In an effort to talk about social media awareness, the Typical Daddy crew went on a journey in season 2 episode 2 of the Typical Daddy Podcast. The team set out to find out to find what information is available to help today’s parents gain the tools necessary to navigate their kids through social media. So each team member presented their strategy, here’s mine:
Busy Daddy, Busy Parents
I love Google, I use Google at least 20 times a day for searching “how to get rid of Dad Bod” and “How to Exercise When There Is No Time”, or “How Much Weight Is Okay For A Dad To Gain?”. I’m a busy dad, we all are busy people. I have a full time job, a wife, two kids, two dogs that seem to poop more than they eat, and a house that I need to maintain. My wife and I often talk about how we wish there was more time in a day. Thus, after we cook, clean and get the kids ready for bed, there is just enough time to get ready for the next day to do it all over again. If our children were older how would we keep up with social media awareness?
Because my time is valuable I wanted to target exactly what I needed to research. So when it comes to staying involved in my children’s lives and guiding them through social media I chose the following strategy. I decided to put my thought process into a infograp, here it is:
There are a number of other strategies that parents can use to maintain awareness of the latest trends in social media and to maintain vigilance over their children. It’s important to note that we all beleive the best strategy involves parents being involved and actively communicating with their children.
